Dr. Patrick M. Ladage received his optometric degree in 1995 from the
Hogeschool van Utrecht, the Netherlands. Following 1 year of optometric
private practice, he enrolled in the University of Houston College of
Optometry (UHCO) vision science graduate program in 1996 and was awarded
a Doctor of Philosophy in 2002. From 1998 to 2002 he carried out his
Ph.D dissertation experiments at the Department of Ophthalmology, UT
Southwestern medical center, Dallas under guidance of Professors H.
Dwight Cavanagh M.D. Ph.D. and Jan P.G. Bergmanson O.D., Ph.D. (UHCO).
Dissertation title: Corneal epithelial homeostasis during extended
contact lens wear.
In 2001 Patrick became fellow of the American Academy of Optometry
and in 2001 and 2002 was awarded the prestigious William C. Ezell
fellowship by the American Optometric Foundation. In August 2006, he
graduated summa cum laude with a Doctor Of Optometry degree from UHCO.
He also worked as research scientist at UHCO from 2004 to 2006.
Patrick is editorial board member for Eye and Contact lens and a
reviewer for IOVS, OVS, Cornea and, Eye and Contact lens; He has
published 28 articles, 3 book chapters and numerous abstracts.
He is now part-time affiliated with TERTC as a study investigator and
scientific writer.
